Renowned for the ability to use difficult manufacturing
techniques, MEL not only produced the Mk 30 and Mk31 Life Preservers
on time, but also gained Qualification for the product at the first
attempt.
Although now still in production, the equipment has been superseded
by later marques.
The equipment contains a self-inflating stole to be used in the
event of aircrew ditching, as well as a collection of approved
survival aids.

store a STASS (Short term air supply system) unit, and has pockets
for mini flares, strobes, first aid, location dyes, and PLBs.
These garments are made of Nomex
fabric, the most effective flame-retardant material currently
available.
The garment is fitted with a TSO approved twin-cell,
manually inflatable, life jacket. |
